Detroit, Michigan. 1946.
Engineers Frank Cotter and G. Howlett Davis harness the natural insulating powers of air and create a permanently sealed, double-wall tumbler as a way to keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold for longer. This innovation would change the drinkware industry forever. Combining the last three letters of each of their last names, Cotter and Davis christened the company “Tervis”.
Today, Tervis currently offers tumblers in numerous sizes, water bottles, sippy cups and wine glasses, 1000s of original and licensed designs and emblems and a full complement of accessories. The third generation family-owned-and-operated business, now employs more than 900 people and is celebrating 70 years of success.
I am thrilled to partner with Tervis on my boutique collection of Art by Lauren Tervis Tumbers. They are currently available at all three Charleston, SC Bed Bath and Beyond locations.
